COTRI was founded by its director, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Georg Arlt. In 2008, the founder and director of the IMT Institute for Management and Tourism, Prof. Dr. Bernd Eisenstein, became COTRI's vice director.
COTRI is working in close cooperation with the IMT Institute for Management and Tourism in Heide/Germany, which employs more than 20 researchers and consultants, and other research institutions inside and outside China.
